How Long Can You Use Canva for Free?

Seriously, you can keep using it for as long as you want to. But you’ll want to upgrade to Canva Pro sooner or later!

Canva is a graphics editing app that lets you create the most eye-catching and professional-looking designs for your needs, even if you’re not a graphics designer.

With Canva, you have access to a huge library of highly customizable design templates for any use case, from logos and business cards to flyers and banners, allowing you to create designs for your needs entirely on your own.

All you have to do is choose a template you like and then customize the colors, fonts, text, and images to your liking. The customization options are limited only by your ingenuity and imagination; you can add, edit, and remove any element from your design.

Generally, Canva has two plans: Canva Free and Canva Pro. You can stay on Canva Free forever, but to unlock all of Canva’s features, you need to upgrade to Canva Pro.

This sets Canva apart from other graphic design tools that only offer paid plans, which some let you try out with a time-limited trial.

There’s a free plan—it’s really free, with no strings attached—and you can stay on that free plan forever (or until Canva changes its pricing plans!).

The paid plan, Canva Pro, costs $12.99/month or $119.99/year, and it’s intended for individuals and small teams with up to 5 team members. (Each additional team member costs $7/month when billed monthly or $60/year when paid annually.)

Canva Pro has a free, 30-day trial for new users. It’s a great and risk-free way to try the tool out and decide for yourself if you like it or not.

Canva Free vs. Canva Pro

So what’s the difference between Canva Free and Canva Pro? I mean, is Canva Pro really worth it?

Canva’s free plan gives you access to a library of 250,000+ design templates and hundreds of thousands of free stock photos. You can invite members to your team and collaborate with them in real-time, and you get 5GB of cloud storage space for your designs.

Canva Pro gives you access to everything that Canva Free does, and it unlocks new templates, stock media, and features to make your design work even easier.

For example, with Canva Pro, you can tap into Canva’s huge library of 100+ million royalty-free stock photos, design elements, videos, and sounds without having to pay a dime extra to use them.

You also get three times the design templates. Customizing these templates becomes easier because you can create so-called “Brand Kits,” which let you set default fonts and colors for your graphics and apply them automatically to any design you like.

Plus, you get access to cool features, like the one-click background remover (seriously, we at Maker’s Aid use it more often than Photoshop’s) and the magic resizer.

Last but not least, you get 100GB of cloud storage space for your designs—and the ability to connect to your social media accounts and post and schedule to them without having to leave Canva.

Can I Cancel My Free Trial of Canva Pro?

If you’ve activated your 30-day free trial of Canva Pro but, for one reason or another, you would now like to cancel, you can do so as long as the new billing period hasn’t started.

To cancel your Canva Pro trial, click on your profile photo, select “Account settings,” and go to the “Billing & teams” tab. Scroll down until you find your subscription details, then click on the icon with the three dots and select “Cancel subscription.”

When you start your free trial of Canva Pro, it’s a good idea to create an event in your calendar to remind you when the trial period ends.

This way you will be reminded to make the final decision in time!
