Do You Need Google AdSense for Ezoic?

With the Ezoic ad platform, you can earn more from every page view. But do you need a Google AdSense account to get in?

Published Categorized as Ads

Placing display ads and video ads on your website is one of the best ways to monetize it, especially if it is in a niche with a lot of advertisers that outbid each other and if it gets a good amount of traffic.

And while Google’s own Google AdSense is always an option, there are a number of ad networks out there that can help you earn more for every thousand page views. Among the best of them at the moment is Ezoic.

If you want to get into Ezoic and start making more money from your website, but you’re not sure if you can because you don’t have a Google AdSense account, this post will help you find out.

So… Can you get into Ezoic with a Google AdSense account?

You don’t need a Google AdSense account to join Ezoic. With that being said, your website must still comply with Ezoic’s and Google’s ad policies in order for your submission to be accepted.

Generally speaking, if you have a blog or website with a few dozen high-quality posts or pages and at least a few thousand monthly visitors on a topic that isn’t prohibited by Google, you have a relatively high chance of getting into Ezoic.

Ezoic’s Policies

Ezoic’s requirements are as follows:

  • First, your website’s content must be original.
  • Second, your website’s traffic must be authentic and human (not bot).
  • Third, the content on your website must not be on Google Ads’ prohibited list.
  • Fourth, your website must have a navigation menu that allows users to browse and explore it freely.
  • Fifth and final, your content must not be locked behind a paywall, sharewall, or subscriberwall.

Ezoic used to require 10,000 page views for publishers to be able to sign up for the monetization program. Since 2021, these restrictions have been lifted, and today there are no longer any page view restrictions to join Ezoic.

Google’s Publisher Policies

The Google Publisher Policies are as detailed and specific as they get.

Your website’s content must be legal, promote only legal activities, and not infringe on the legal rights of others.

Your website must comply with Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, be in one of Google’s supported languages for ad inventory, and have a privacy policy.

Dangerous, derogatory, and misrepresentative content is not allowed in the Google Display Network. In addition to that, unreliable, harmful, and deceptive claims can prevent your website from being approved or get your Google AdSense account suspended.

Why It’s a Good Idea to Have Google AdSense Regardless

Ezoic’s platform has a feature called Ad Mediation that allows you to link your Google AdSense account to your Ezoic account—and have ads from Google AdSense compete alongside ads from Ezoic partners.

If at any time you can earn more with Google AdSense for a given page view than you can with Ezoic, the Ezoic platform will display the AdSense ads and the earnings will be credited to your AdSense account.

Mediation is a great feature that lets you earn more from your website over time, even if you have the same amount of traffic. So it’s worth coming into Ezoic with a Google AdSense account.

Can You Get Into Ezoic With a Suspended AdSense Account?

If your site is linked to a suspended Google AdSense account, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be able to get into Ezoic unless you appeal to Google and the suspension is lifted.

Keep in mind that Google AdSense suspensions have an expiration date.

When Google suspends your Google AdSense account, they will send you an email with the reason why it happened and give you time to make relevant changes to your site and fix any issues that led to the suspension in the first place.

During that time, your payments will be on hold. If the issues persist, Google may permanently close your account. Considering that almost all ad networks work with the Google Display Network, take this seriously and try to remediate anything that led to the suspension.

The Bottom Line

No, you don’t need a Google AdSense account to sign up with Ezoic. If you do have an AdSense account, that account must be in good standing with Google, or your chances of getting approved for Ezoic are slim.

However, if you sign up to Ezoic with a Google AdSense account, you can potentially earn more by using the Ezoic platform’s ad brokerage.
